The Daily Herald Business Ledger is hosting its 27th Annual Awards for Business Excellence (AABE). The AABEs highlight successful suburban businesses and organizations and honor the people who make them successful.
The AABEs, given for business achievement, growth and community involvement, are presented to outstanding businesses and non-profit organizations with a significant presence in the suburban circulation area of the Daily Herald Business Ledger (DuPage County, Fox Valley, NW Cook County, Lake County, West Cook County, Southwest Cook County and Will County.)
The award recipients will be recognized during an evening reception on Wednesday, March 15. The recipient companies and organizations will be profiled in a special publication of The Daily Herald Business Ledger published on April 17.

NOMINATION PROCEDURES AND DEADLINES
Individuals, businesses or organizations may submit nominations.
A cover letter is recommended from business management, customers, employees, or others familiar with the nominated organization. The letter is helpful to our editorial staff that will conduct the judging.
After the nomination is submitted, the key contact in a company or organization will be asked to submit a nomination portfolio consisting of supporting materials. (See checklist below).
Business executives or employees may nominate their own company or organization.
Completed nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 20, 2017.
Supporting materials are due two weeks later — Feb. 3, 2017. Electronic submissions are strongly encouraged and should be e-mailed to blawards@dailyherald.com.
Judging will take place the following week and the honorees will be notified of their selection no later than Feb. 8, 2017.

ELIGIBILITY
Nominated companies or organizations should have a significant business presence in the Chicago suburbs. If the company does not have a business address in the suburbs then the suburban business presence must be described in supporting materials.
Nominated companies may be publicly or privately held.
Companies or organizations that have been nominated in previous years but not selected may be nominated again.
Previous award recipients are also eligible, except for those recognized in the past five years. (Companies that where honored during the years of 2012-2016 are ineligible).
Companies or organizations may be nominated in multiple categories as long as they meet the criteria, but may only be honored in one category. The judges, at their discretion, may move a nominee into the category they believe most suitable.
